Powering off has never been so hard. In the last 30 years our lives have lit up like Christmas trees. More and more artificial light has made its way into our lives, and studies by NASA, Harvard and thousands of other institutions are appearing daily - all confirming the problems artificial light is causing. The main problem is that this artificial light throws off our internal clocks. Why is your circadian rhythm so important? NIGHT Energy is restored. Muscles are relaxed. Melatonin secretion. Blood pressure drops. Tissue growth and repair occurs. We need "deep sleep" to have a wellspring of energy. For over 99% of our history, we've had no exposure to artificial light after sundown. Biologically, our bodies are still wired like they were since humans first appeared, and we react very powerfully to light and the absence of it. DAY Melatonin secretion stops. Testosterone secretion. Blood flow increase. Heart rate increases. High alertness. I have had a sleep disorder for years that goes along with fibromyalgia. I will try almost anything, other than pharmaceutials, to get better sleep. I added the light blocking glasses to my sleep hygiene regimen and I feel that I get deeper sleep after using them. I am basing this judgement on the fact that I now usually get up only once during the night to empty my bladder and I have a bit more energy the next day. I put the glasses on between 7:30 and 8:00 p.m. Lights go out about 10:00 so I always get al least two hours of wearing the glasses. They are not a miracle, but they are a help. They are a bit tight over the ears and I do have a small head otherwise I would have given them five stars. They appear cheaply made. The instructions say to wear them 3 hours before bed, but they are very uncomfortable and hurt your head after a short time. This by itself makes them unsuitable for me. They do block the blue and green light from what I can tell. Everything appears with a reddish hue, kind of black and red vs black and white. When first put on, everything appears dark, but your eyes adjust quickly. Despite being very uncomfortable, I will carry on to see if they actually let me sleep better. If they do, I will spend more and get a pair that are comfortable and quality made.I watched a program that talked about circadian rhythm. It made sense so I picked up these glasses to see what they could do for my sleep. It's only been a couple weeks but I do notice I fall asleep faster. I'm not sure yet if my overall sleep is better. Maybe I need to give it more time. The only negative is that these glasses are a bit snug on my face which can sometimes lead to a headache.Feels a little uncomfortable. The bridge of my nose is very sensitive, so the little extra weight begins to hurt and I can still see around the, a little. I did stop using them. I should start again though because I was getting my best nights sleep when I was wearing them. The Sleep Savior fitover glasses fit over my glasses nicely and are comfortable to wear. I’ve been wearing them in the evening (3 hours-sleeptime) to watch TV and while using various mobile devices in the evening. It took awhile to adjust to lack of color on any device I watching or using. The glasses are one more tool to combat insomnia.I am really liking these. I’ve gotta get used to them though because it’s just not a normal thing for me to put on red specs 1-3 hours before bed. I’m getting better though. I believe that they ARE working, as long as I wear them correctly. My sleep has improved, I’ve noticed. The only downside is that I have some reading glasses that don’t like these over them (so temperamental haha), But I wear them still because I’m also trying to READ more before bed as opposed to watching TV or being on my electronic devices. These glasses fit well over my prescription glasses so I can actually put them on sooner and wear them while I continue working on the computer. About an hour and a half before bed, I shut down computer but I still use my cell phone to set up alarm, pull up guided meditation, etc. All of this now seems to not interfere with me feeling sleepy & getting much better rest than before.I would recommend getting an eyeglasses case for these when that becomes available. The most convenient time for me to use my computer is after day is done. I have found this to be frustrating because it interferes with my ability to fall asleep. I have been using Sleep Savior Fitover Glasses for one week while using my devices at night and have fallen asleep, and stayed asleep, much quicker. I couldn't be happier. Thank you Sleep Savior!!Not worth the money, these are just red safety googles. I sent these back and bought a £2 pair of red wine safety goggles. They block out blue and green light and are the exact same shape and size as these glasses. I like the idea behind this company but not their prices. Fair enough their other glasses are their own design so I can see why the price is more justified, but these are just red safety goggles, nothing special.Insomnia
